‘Codex’ explores the importance of passing down information by creating code, through language, manuscripts, books and digital coding we are able to preserve and store vital information that can be accessed by future generations about our technological and medicinal discoveries.
Throughout history war has tampered with our coding.... Empires desires to eradicate other tribes and factions has destroyed much of the knowledge our ancestors held so dear. Knowledge of the land and the relationship nature has with its environment.
What was once primitive writings on caves is now modernised, the 21st century now uses binary digits to represent letters, characters and other symbols in a digital format, recoding our already coded languages to pass information through digital hyperspace.
The internet has then become a conservationist of knowledge with 2.5 quintillion bytes of data created each day at our current pace, but that pace is only accelerating with the growth of the Internet. Over the last two years alone 90 percent of the data in the world was generated...
Every minute....
