Custodian - A person who has responsibility for or looks after something. This new painting explores a topic that has been circulating around my head for a few years now....

The debate of the positives and negatives of bringing a child into this world?  The proposition of child bearing felt like a lifetime away when this was painted. Being constantly on the move exploring and focussing all my energies on cultivating my own business working day and night. These thoughts were especially pushed back into the sub conscious by the constant barrage of negativity from the media, regressing political situations and environmental catastrophes plaguing the world.

I know this is something a lot of young people also feel as they are crushed by the modern society, unable to get decent paying jobs from topics they studied at university with a tonne of debt on their heads. With the inability to afford housing or to be able to support themselves let alone another in a stable environment it seems off the cards.  However, I believe in Humanity.... not the existing political structures who are clinging onto power, ignoring facts and statistics to lobby rules and laws in favour of bankers and corporations caring only for exponential growth but for our children.  

As long as we die, bad leaders and dictators are buried, new humans are born, power is passed down and knowledge is spread to new custodians of planet Earth... we have hope.
