Ocean pollution is a real-world crisis. Submarine draws attention to the interconnectedness of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, emphasizing how actions on land can reverberate beneath the waves. In the depths, the remnants of human activities from land, represented by everyday waste and Industrial pollution, cast a shadow over the once-thriving underwater city.
This serves as a stark commentary on the global issue of ocean pollution, a problem exacerbated by activities such as oil spills, plastic waste, and chemical runoff.
Plastic waste makes up an estimated 80% of marine pollution. About 10 million metric tons of plastic waste enter the oceans each year, The implementation of polyhydroxyalkanoates PHA, (a biodegradable polymer derived from renewable resources) and cellulose acetate, (a bioplastic derived from natural cellulose sources like wood pulp) into industry, signifies a shift in the conservation efforts of global industry. Preserving these vital ecosystems for future generations and the wellbeing of all animal life is a reflection of our own responsibilities we bear as humans.
